Dermapen microneedling consultations on the Gold Coast

Dermapen microneedling is a skin-needling procedure that uses fine needles to create controlled punctures in the skin. If you would like to discuss skin texture, fine lines or the appearance of acne scars, a consultation can help assess whether microneedling is appropriate for your skin and concerns.

How microneedling works

The procedure creates controlled skin injury to stimulate the skin’s repair response. Device settings and the area treated need to be selected for the individual. A procedure that penetrates the skin carries risks and requires appropriate infection control.

What can be assessed?

  • Changes in skin texture and fine lines.
  • The appearance of acne scars after assessment of the type of scarring.
  • Uneven skin tone and whether a separate medical assessment is needed.
  • Face, neck or décolletage concerns, where clinically appropriate.

Different causes of texture changes, scarring and pigmentation may require different care. Microneedling cannot be assumed to address every concern, and complete removal of scars or pigmentation is not promised.

Suitability comes first

Your skin condition, medical history, healing history, current skincare and previous procedures are reviewed. Active infection, open wounds, inflammatory skin concerns or a tendency to unusual scarring may affect suitability. Tell the practitioner about all medicines, pregnancy or breastfeeding and any allergies. Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice from your treating clinician.

Your appointment

Assessment and informed consent come before a procedure. We discuss the areas, settings, expected sensations, risks and aftercare. Treatment may cause discomfort, and comfort measures are discussed individually. The number and timing of appointments depend on your skin, goals and response rather than a standard course for everyone.

Risks and recovery

Possible effects include redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness, flaking and pinpoint bleeding. Infection, pigment changes, scarring and reactions to products used during the procedure can also occur. This is not a complete risk list; individual risks and precautions must be discussed before proceeding.

Recovery depends on the procedure and your skin. Do not assume redness will resolve within a fixed number of hours. Plan around work or events with the practitioner. Follow the supplied instructions for cleansing, skincare, makeup and sun protection; avoid adding unapproved products to recently treated skin.

Aftercare and follow-up

Contact the clinic about worsening redness, pain, swelling, discharge or concerns about healing. Seek prompt medical assessment if you suspect infection or a significant reaction. Results and recovery vary, and further procedures are considered only after reviewing your response.

Costs and Gold Coast locations

An individual quote is discussed after assessment and before treatment. Consultations are available at Isle of Capri and Broadbeach. Contact the clinic to confirm appointment arrangements.

Frequently asked questions

Can microneedling help acne scars?

Scar type and skin condition need assessment. Some scars may need other care; complete removal is not guaranteed.

Is it appropriate for every skin type?

No procedure is suitable for everyone. Your skin and pigment-change risk need an individual discussion.

How quickly will I see a change?

Any response develops over time and varies. There may be limited improvement, and a fixed timeline cannot be promised.

Can I use my usual skincare straight away?

Follow the specific aftercare supplied for your procedure. Some products may need to be paused or reintroduced later under guidance.
